April 11, 2019
by Doug “Uncola” Lynn:
On Wednesday April 10, 2019 the recently appointed Attorney General of the United States, William Barr, publically acknowledged the largest political scandal in American history. This declaration occurred during a senate hearing and, specifically, during an exchange with Democratic New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
When Barr told her he thought “spying on a political campaign is a big deal”, Shaheen, in turn, asked: “You’re not suggesting, though, that spying occurred?”
To which Barr replied:
I think spying did occur. Yes, I think spying did occur. But the question is whether it was adequately predicated and I am not suggesting that it wasn’t adequately predicated. But I need to explore that.
Unsurprisingly, afterwards, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she didn’t trust Attorney General Barr. She, furthermore, implied the contention of Trump’s campaign being spied on “undermines Barr’s independence as the nation’s top law enforcement officer”. As if trying to convince herself, Pelosi added that Barr’s comments undermined “the Constitution and his role in the Justice Department”.
Regardless of Pelosi’s political positioning, historians will one day point to Barr’s statement as the sea change in the national debate. It was the seismic shift which transitioned Trump’s “lack of exoneration” for obstruction of justice in the Russia investigation, into the Spygate and FISA abuse narratives going mainstream. In other words, in the wake of Robert Mueller’s investigation, Barr and, perhaps unintentionally, the Senate Democrats, just changed the channel on the electronic Overton Window.
In theory, this would result in American’s learning how FBI asset Stefan Halper and Australian diplomat Alexander Downer entrapped former Trump aid George Papadopoulos in a London Barr. It was a sting, or set-up, that resulted in an Obama administration surveillance operation dubbed “Crossfire Hurricane”. In a perfect world, the sleeping sheeple would awaken to discover the entire Russiagate investigation was certainly the effort to cover-up those crimes. They would soon understand how Trump’s alleged obstruction of justice for firing former FBI Director James Comey was actually the result of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s recommendation; a recommendation that came about because Comey pretended to be attorney general when he pardoned Hillary Clinton.
Then, mainstream Americans would learn how Rosenstein signed off on at least one of the FISA warrants to spy on Trump’s campaign, hired Mueller on the basis of Comey’s illegally leaked “memos” and, ultimately, how Mueller, Rosenstein, Comey, and many more were all balls deep in the crimes of Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama; even as the bogus Russia investigation forced Trump’s National Security Advisor to step down and Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from all things Mueller.
But don’t hold your breath for any real justice though. Because the truth is not valued currently in America. Not anymore. All that matters are ratings, optics, and politics.
Have you noticed how, after the collapse of the Mueller investigation, nobody in the mainstream media was angry at intelligence community “experts” like former CIA Director John Brennon or Obama’s former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and others? After over two years of misdirection and outright lies, no one has been taken to the proverbial woodshed. No one in the media, and to a large extent, the “Resistance” are even angry for being led down the primrose path. BECAUSE, FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, THEY KNEW IT WAS A LIE.
It is all just politics to them. And, even now it’s merely theatrics.
In a moment of supreme irony NBC moderator and host Chuck Todd, a Russian conspiracy theorist since 2016, said William Barr’s statements regarding surveillance on the Trump campaign “gave credence to a factless conspiracy theory”; and, in so doing, that Barr “gaslit the country”.
Of course, in his statement, Todd was referencing the practice of Gaslighting which is a form of mental manipulation whereby liars trick suckers into questioning their own common sense. You know, kind of exactly what Todd had done to his viewers with the Russian election-hacking hoax for over the last two years.
Unbelievable.
And that’s just the tip of iceberg. The resistance has shifted into high gear and now it’s full speed ahead to discredit Attorney General Barr, who Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said is “peddling conspiracy theories” and for which House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler called “Republican conspiracy theory nonsense.”
How the worm does turn. The show goes on. And that’s the point, isn’t it? Because William Barr, like everyone else inside the D.C. Beltway and beyond, knows that Spygate and FISA-abuse actually happened and that the Trump “Golden Shower” dossier was about as viable as Michael Avenatti’s presidential campaign. But, still, Attorney General Barr had to qualify his statements by saying:
“I am not suggesting that it [spying] wasn’t adequately predicated.”
Why? Because it’s all a charade. It’s all for TV.
Toward that end, Trump now has, not only the momentum, but, also, maximum narrative awareness saturation in the minds of America’s body politic. If he so desired, he holds the winning hand and could run the tables on all of the Deep State’s men.
So unclassify the FISA documentation, Mr. President. Do it exactly at the same time as the redacted Mueller Report is released. And do so while quoting your opponents’ previous statements on transparency.
Full release of the report to Congress is consistent with both congressional intent and the interests of the American public. On March 14, 2019, by a vote of 420-0, the House unanimously passed H. Con. Res. 24, a resolution calling for “the full release” of the Special Counsel’s report to Congress, as well as the public release of the Special Counsel’s report except to the extent the disclosure of “any portion thereof is expressly prohibited by law.” The American people have also consistently and overwhelmingly supported release of the full report….
The allegations at the center of Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation strike at the core of our democracy. Congress urgently needs his full, unredacted report and its underlying evidence in order to fulfill its constitutional role, including its legislative, appropriations, and oversight responsibilities….In addition, the American people deserve to be fully informed about these issues of extraordinary public interest, and therefore need to see the report and findings in Special Counsel Mueller’s own words to the fullest extent possible.

It does appear to be quite the battle, no? Obviously, the push now is to get the Mueller Report released and then find something to grab onto therein. Of course, the media will be on board fully and it will work like a charm.
But is it a real battle between forces of dark and light? Maybe. But, more than likely, it’s just another season in the never-ending show.
Every week it’s another episode.
Did you see the one where Bob Barr replaced Jeff Sessions at the perfect time? How Sessions stepped down, Barr was nominated and confirmed just before the Mueller Report’s release? And how Mueller included language that did “not exonerate” Trump? And, then, how the media jumped on that?
It’s fascinating how the daily drama continues but no one ever goes to jail except Trump’s former aides and advisors.
Then, right on cue, just as the recently appointed Attorney General of the United States publically acknowledged the largest political scandal in American history – the first photo EVER of a black hole captured the entire world’s imagination and a NEW human species was discovered! All in the same 24 hours.
Just like reality TV. Pass the popcorn.
Nice article, again. I tried to comment over at TBP, but I have apparently been banned ? I don’t even know what post I made that would call for it, I haven’t even tried to make a comment for a couple of weeks as I have barely had time to even open my computer-been dealing with cardio clowns and getting their release for surgery (for my wife)…..
annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum- it is all a masonic soap opera, and the ‘extras’ are the ‘citizen serfs’
I enjoy your articles, (among others) and will continue to visit the TBP, but must admit that I am taken aback by the Admin’s decision to disallow my comments……some champion of free speech…….maybe a freemason ?

Ordo,
I have been banned there multiple times as the result of issues Admin wasn’t aware of. You should e-mail Jim and ask him what’s happening. It could be just a misunderstanding, or simply a tech issue, ya know?

I’ve been banned for probably good reason and Jim has had the man with no name clear it up.. I like your comments and I believe Jim Quinn is indeed a champion of free speech, but since he has bills to pay to run that platform, a lot of the cleanup work has to be done by automation. I’ve had many comments dump into SPAM and Jim has retrieved them. Others have as well.
Nice article Doug. I saw my doctor today… I call him Popeye just not to his face. US Navy Doctor, retired as a full bird. Not a “nice” guy but very likeable. Well, likeable until he suggested a colonoscopy, that is.
Anyway, he thinks this thing’s about to blow sky high. Tell people Popeye Doyle down in Marble Hill said so. LOL
